The Olympic Day symbolizes one of the most celebrated occasions of the Olympic Movement worldwide. Many NOCs celebrate this day by hosting various events to share and learn the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect. Since 1987, the KSOC has hosted the Olympic Day Run (ODR) annually to mark this occasion. While promoting good health by encouraging participants to run 5 or 10 km; the ODR was more focused on meaningful participation rather than on achieving a good lap time.
KSOC Olympic Academy
Formed in 1989, the KSOC Olympic Academy was established to promote Olympism, and develop sports among college students, sports managers, PE teachers, and the general public. Annually, more than 100 participants benefit from discussions and lectures that cover 'Olympic Values and Education'. Apart from the formal sessions, friendly exchanges, sports and recreational activities in the Olympic spirit give the participants a preview of the true Olympic experience.
Olympic Solidarity Program
The IOC, by the means of the Olympic Solidarity Program provides funds to sports organizations, athletes, coaches, and officials for development. As a National Olympic Committee, we are responsible for the application to the Olympic Solidarity program. There are three major programs which we can obtain Olympic Solidarity funds – the World Program, the Continental Program, and the Olympic Games. The IOC's solidarity funding is a great boost and support to aspiring elite athletes and coaches who are preparing for the Olympic Games.
